I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Tulsa in 1993. An intensive inpatient background prepared me for a ten-year tenure as clinical director for South Coast Children’s Society, a nonprofit residential treatment program for youths and families in Southern California. After transitioning into private practice for the second decade of my professional career, I relocated to Alabama in 2014 to be closer to family. I’m located in the Mobile Office Park on the corner of Airport and McGregor where I operate a purely private pay practice comprised of three streams: local private clients, EAP services to Springhill Medical Heath Services employees, and video-sessions with California clients. I work with adults, couples, adolescents, and families. I integrate insight-oriented and experiential clinical methods, utilize mindfulness techniques, promote secure-functioning attachment skills based on interpersonal neuroscience, and approach sessions in a manner that is both directive and collaborative to produce results from the outset. Perhaps the most innovative work I do is based on extensive training in PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy) wherein I utilize video recording and playback that allows couples to witness their attachment dynamics through a series of exercises. Personal interest wise, the three things I could never live without are my sister, meditation, and running shoes.
